The Revs

Fresh from performance at Vicar Street with a stellar cast line up including Christy Moore, Damien Rice and Kila, and a headlining slot on The Green Energy Festival The Revs make a welcome return to the Le Cheile Festival on Fri July 30th.

"Their debut album is a wondrous collection of lo-fi guitar pop, brimming with simple sing along melodies and clever pop culture references" - Daily Telegraph

"The Revs are well on their way to being to the noughties what The Kinks and Small Faces were to the 60's, Thin Lizzy were to the 70's and The Police and The Jam were to the 80's - pure power packed pop rock with more hooks than The Edge has conjured up in a decade" - Drum Media

"Already stupidly popular in Ireland the REVS look set to hijack British ears..Great !" THE FLY.

"Guitars slam in with riffs to die for and drums are pummelled to within an inch of their life". Buzz Mag

"So damn entertaining that it renews your faith in rock's ability to change lives..truly triumphant." KKKKK 5k Kerrang live review.

Since forming in early 2000 The Revs have enjoyed a breathtaking run, with 6 top 20 records including gold single and Album in Ireland. They have also achieved Main stage status for Witnness and Slane in Ireland, have played the prestigious Reading and Leeds Carling Festivals in the UK and have won four Irish Music Industry awards.

After releasing their second top 5 album in Ireland in Feb 2003, The Revs embarked on a mini world tour and 2 successful UK tours, which earned them national and regional press including 5 star reviews and single of the week from Kerrang, The Fly and about 20 other publications including rave live reviews and numerous features, interviews and new band pieces.

October 2003 saw the band split with their management and Record label. They signed to the well-respected team at Smash Music for Australia in late November and their debut studio album 'Suck' was released there in January 2004. Promoting the release the band toured Australia in March 04, their visit Down Under proved highly successful and saw the band receive four front covers in major music street publications including Inpress and Drum Media. The Revs have received fantastic reviews, new band pieces and secured major airplay on Australia's main radio stations and their return there is highly anticipated.

Although they are known primarily for being a band that never leaves the road they will perform only a few selected shows during the summer months as they are currently writing material for their second studio album.
