Dublin four piece band Blink had no idea where their blend of screaming guitars and heavy bass would take them.
It's been some adventure.
Having signed with EMI records, Blink went on to score a string of hits in Ireland, before venturing out to the UK and ultimately the US. Their first album 'A Map Of The Universe By Blink' produced four top ten Irish singles, including 'It's Not My Fault' and the classic 'Cello'.
After several tours with the likes of Moby, Mercury Rev, The Frames, Crowded House, to mention just a few, Blink released their second album 'The End Is High' on US label 'Paradigm Records'. This scored Billboard Magazine Album Of The Month on it's release, and saw the band tour the US solidly, playing to steadily expanding audiences.
On meeting producer Howie Beno, (original member of Trent Reznors' mentors Ministry) and discovering they shared many things in common, it felt the natural thing to do to finally go ahead and make that third album together.
Now ready for a summer release, 'Deep Inside The Sound Of Sadness' has already been described by one journalist as a very powerful, and shockingly honest work, reeking with singles, and more than just a return to form for Blink. The first single is set for a late April release on EMI records, with the album following shortly afterwards.
